How To Achieve Your eBay Goals In 2013
Goals – Begin With The End In Mind
All successful people do this – they begin with the end in mind. They see success and their desired end result before they ever begin their project.
In fact, you could almost draw a parallel with how much this skill relates to personal success.
Those who have the ability to begin with the end in mind can “see” their success ahead of time and can continue to strive toward that “picture”; the end result that they see so clearly.
Of course, it is entirely possible that you could lose that picture through lack of focus or lack of desire for that outcome but that is entirely up to you and your own ability to hold on to that thought of success.
Think about it, in your job, who are the highest paid people at the top of the corporate ladder?
I would suggest that many of them are not the most talented when it comes to the nuts and bolts of manufacturing, technology or the day-to-day operations of the company, but many of the top corporate executives and entrepreneurs ARE able to think and plan and visualize the successful execution of a larger goal. In fact, some of the better ones could be called “visionaries”.
A great example of a visionary is Walt Disney. I remember reading a great story about Mr. Disney… (paraphrased)
Mr. Disney passed away during the construction of Tomorrowland.
The story goes that at the Grand Opening of Tomorrowland, Mrs. Disney was asked, “Isn’t it too bad that Walt can’t be here to see this?”
To which Mrs. Disney assured them, “He has seen it.”
See, Walt Disney had seen it – way before construction even began on that project.
He had a clear, concise picture in his mind of what he wanted to accomplish and then set the wheels in motion to create his vision.
What do you want to accomplish in 2013?
Do you have a clear, concise mental picture of what you want?
Is it laser-tuned specific or is it vague and general?
Have you taken time to write out all of your game plan for 2013 – and beyond?
Do it today!
Game Planning For Success
The word “Goals” and the practice of writing goals down is almost a cliché nowadays.
As you know, I am a student of success in business and have attended hundreds of seminars, read thousands of books and listened to days of audios and videos on success. I know the power of goal setting and the effect that it has had on my success.
However, I believe there is something even more powerful than goal setting and I call it “Game planning”.
If you have any experience in sports, then you have a clear idea of what I’m talking about.
It has more to do with the actual strategy and logistics of what you want to accomplish than the actual end result itself.
In sports we call these “plays” or, put more simply, the steps you must execute in order to reach the goal line or to win the game.
Game planning involves goal setting but takes it to the next step. This next step is one of actually creating a plan to accomplish the end result (goal) and a timeline in which to accomplish each step. It is literally a step-by-step plan of accomplishment!
This is the way the mind responds best to a goal – it must have a plan to get to its goal and then – everything moves a LOT more smoothly!
Take some time TODAY. (no procrastinating, remember it’s a New Year – Just do it!)
Set your eBay business game plan and develop strategies to accomplish your end result.
By having A PLAN in place, (it doesn’t have to be perfect) you will more easily move forward and you know what? Moving forward is the very first step to success.
It is the ability to get yourself off of square one that is probably the most important step – once you do that, you have forward momentum and it is much easier to keep going than it is to stop! – Get on it!
Include Your Family And Friends In Your Game Plans For This Year
You need to know something.
All this talk about success in business will be utterly worthless if you don’t have family and friends to share it with.
I believe that you can spend all of your time building success and that, at the end of the day, if you don’t have loved ones to share your excitement and wealth with, it will all be hollow.
The real joy in life is in healthy, fulfilling, well-balanced relationships – relationships with God, Family, Friends and Associates.
My last (but certainly not least) recommendation for success in 2013 is that you work hard to build or enrich these important relationships in your life.
I realize that some of your friends or family may not understand or even support your business goals and that’s ok.
You still need to be able to Game Plan time with God, time with your family, time with your friends and yes, even time with your employees or people you work with!
By doing this, you will be extracting more “juice” out of life.
You will enjoy your life a lot more and you will have richness to your life that few other people do. It will add dimension to your monetary success and will make your life much fuller.
Just stop and think about financially successful people who isolated themselves:
- Elvis Presley
- Howard Hughes
- Kurt Cobain
- Jim Morrison
- Marylyn Monroe
- etc.
These people were rich and famous but, because they isolated themselves from people, they ended up among some of the tragedies of history.
Be sure you make time to be with friends and family – at the end of the line, our relationships will far out value our business net worth.

What Ryan does is set up “Win-Win” scenarios that end up giving him all kinds of things that are either free or paid for through his deals.
I found his book to be a real eye-opener and is a powerful way to open your mind to all kinds of creative ways to do deals without using money, which is what we commonly think of as the currency of choice.

Winning the Storage Wars – How to Use My “Pyramid of Value” to Make Money with Storage Auctions
Hi, this is Dave Espino with StorageAuctionMoney.com and in today’s storage auction tip of the day, I want to share with you what I call my “Pyramid of Value” concept. The pyramid of value concept is really simple.
Let’s say you just bought a storage unit and you’re very excited to dig through all the boxes, dig through the storage unit to find all the stuff that you bought. Now, what you want to do is you want to sort those items based on what I call my Pyramid of Value.
And the reason I called it a pyramid is because at the very top you’ve got the high value antiques and collectibles. (And usually there are less of those than everything else, right?) But those are the high value items that you want to set aside very carefully, maybe do some research on them and then determine where’s the best place to sell those items to squeeze the most profit out of them.
That’s where you’re going to make probably the lion’s share of your profit – is at the very top of the pyramid.
Now the second place is collectibles, maybe they’re not as high value collectibles and items that are brand new in-the-box. Items that are brand new or in the box are awesome because there are particular ways you can sell these brand new items very, very easily without having to take a lot of your time. It’s almost remote control profits – it’s so awesome to sell these brand new items in the box. So that’s your second level of the pyramid.
The third level of the pyramid is larger, high-value items and larger, high-value collectibles. I’m talking about things like antique furniture. These are items that are a little bit bulkier, a little harder to move but they still retain really good value.
So, those items you want to sell in a completely different venue than the other two levels in the pyramid. You see what I’m saying? Because you’re going to use a completely different marketplace and and even a different way to sell those items.
The fourth level is large, common household items. Were talking about a stove, were talking about a refrigerator, things like that are large common household items. They’re sellable, but they’re bulky. So there’s a whole different place and a whole different way to sell those items so that you reduce the amount of effort that you have to use in turning those into a profit and so that you sell them quickly.
And then there’s another level in the pyramid (towards the bottom) and that is: common items that are worth fifteen dollars or more. Common items that are worth fifteen dollars or more are sold in a different marketplace altogether and we need to be aware that this is a good marketplace for these types of items.
Then, at the very bottom of the pyramid you’ve got common items that are worth fifteen dollars or less. Now these are kind of the “bottom-of-the-barrel” items, but you’ll be amazed at how many of these items are going to still make you money that will add to your overall profit in the value pyramid.
So, that’s my Pyramid of Value concept! Now, in every one of these levels there is a right place and a wrong place to sell these items. To squeeze the most out of those items and get the most out of that storage unit for yourself. And I’ll teach you all these things in my video training called ‘Insider Secrets to Making Money with Storage Auctions.’
I mean, I go into full blown detail on the absolute best places to sell every type of item that you might find in a storage unit, to squeeze the most money out of those items because it’s not just about spending as little as possible on that storage unit, it’s also about getting as much as possible out of that storage unit!

Hi this is Dave Espino with StorageAuctionMoney.com and in today’s “storage auction tip of the day” I want to talk about the magical transformation that happens as soon as you buy a winning storage unit. You know, it has happened so many times I’ll invest a few hundred bucks – maybe two hundred dollars to buy a storage unit that’s worth three or four thousand dollars!
And that’s the magical transformation; the fact that you were able to buy thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, for just a few hundred dollars. You were able to buy merchandise for only a hundred dollars. Suddenly you’re three or four thousand dollars richer!

How to Find Storage Auctions – Storage Auctions in Your City
Hey, this is Dave Espino with storage auctions training and I want to share with you one of the questions that people ask the most about storage auctions and that is, “How can I find these storage auctions in my area” or “where do I find these storage auctions in my area?”
So I want to give you a couple of answers today. There are even more answers in my training course but I do want to share some of the answers that we have here today.
I subscribe to a publication called Storage Auction News. Now, storage auction news has been around forever. In fact, I’ve been a subscriber there for 11 years now. And what they do is they have this pink sheet (actually several sheets) that is mailed out to you and it’s Storage Auction News, it will literally tell you all the storage auctions happening in your area. The one I subscribe to happens to be for Southern California and as you can see here, this is tomorrow’s auctions, starting Wednesday all the way through to here, almost the entire page – all happening tomorrow in one day.
So that shows how many storage auctions are happening right now in the Southern California area. We’ve circled a couple here, we’ve circled Laguna Niguel, San Clemente, Costa Mesa, Laguna Hills, there’s an auction in Burbank we might check out. There’s Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods, Laguna Hills and then there’s some down near Santa Monica and Venice and there’s Irvine, Lake Forest and Santa Monica. You’ve got a good range and some of these are the ones that we’re going to.
What we do is we create an itinerary and follow from one city to the next city.
Now, at each one of these facilities, there can be anywhere from 1 to 22 units being auctioned off – or even more depending on the facility – so that creates huge opportunity for you to be able to attend storage auctions on a constant basis. So that’s one way that you can actually find about them.
This sheet is actually only for Southern California auctions. They also have a Northern California option.
Now, in the old days, it was difficult to find out where the storage auctions were. You’d have to get out the Yellow Pages book. Then, you’d have to call all your local self-storage facilities in the area. And it was kind of difficult. It was a lot of manual labor, just labor intensive.
Nowadays, I’ve developed about eight different ways that you could find storage auctions in your local area – in my “Insider Secrets to Making Money with Storage Auctions” new video course.

The 4 Critical Factors To Long Term Business Success
In my years of studies on success, I’ve discovered that success really only boils down to a few key things.
Master these things, (assuming you have an excellent business vehicle, such as eBay, affiliate marketing or internet marketing) and you will become successful.
I will list four of the key components to success here, but today, I want to focus on the two main ingredients in this article.
Core components to success:
- Your attitude, or mindset
- Your actions, or daily activities you do to get you to success
- Your vision, such as your ability to visualize and believe in your outcomes
- Your ability to leverage your actions and scale up to your vision
I listed Attitude and Actions at the top because without these two components, you won’t even get off the ground.
Today, I want to discuss the critical ingredient, your attitude or mindset.
1. Attitude
I once had a mentor who lived by the credo: “Attitude is everything” and I completely agree.
When your attitude is right, you cannot help but do great things in your life.
A lot is said about attitude, but no one really takes the time to break it down to its essential elements.
I want to do that right here.
Developing a positive, winning attitude is something that you must cultivate over time – it doesn’t come naturally and there is very little support for it in the “real world”.
- Your co-workers are generally not positive and excited, are they?
- Your spouse or significant other is often not positive and excited about your involvement in an eBay business.
- Your general peer group is usually not that excited and positive about their prospects in life.
You may have heard the phrase: “If it is to be, it is up to me”
Well, if you want to improve your attitude and your mindset, (and therefore improve your life dramatically) then that is what this is going to take – a personal effort on your part and an attitude of never quitting.
First of all, I want to define attitude and mindset so that we are on the same page when we discuss these terms:
Attitude – The way I define attitude is: “An unbeatable, daring spirit of winning that never quits until the goal is achieved”
There are several words there that I want to focus on…
Unbeatable – have you ever been unbeatable at something? There is an unshakable feeling of confidence in yourself when you achieve that level of success.
When you are unbeatable, you have the attitude that says: “Bring it on – I can take whatever you’re bringing!”
This unbeatable (a more poetic word would be indomitable, which is similar to invincible) spirit allows you to keep on keeping on, even when things seem impossible. I believe you MUST have this spirit in order to succeed in anything. (But, what if you don’t have this spirit? Read on!)
The next word I used to describe attitude was “daring”.
I believe that to accomplish anything great in life, you must have a bit of a “daredevil” spirit.
If you study successful entrepreneurs, you find that many of them are actively involved in action sports or are just seriously into “living life” and not just sitting around on a couch.
There has to be a little bit of that daring spirit in someone who wants to make it big.
The next descriptor I used was a “spirit of winning that never quits”.
When you have the spirit of winning and you never quit, you have the edge over most other people.
Most people want what’s easy and winning is usually not easy.
Winning comes after hard practice, preparation and work and those are things most people are not willing to do – therefore, most people do not end up winning!
And one thing people will do easily is quit.
They’ll quit their marriage if things get uncomfortable, they’ll quit on their dreams if things get difficult, they’ll quit on themselves, too! (though they would never really call it that)
I believe that if you want to win in your eBay business, you need to have these things in place.
How To Get The Winning Attitude – The Winning Edge
You know, the sad thing is, we are not typically brought up to learn even the basics of acquiring a winning attitude.
You are not taught how to have a great, winning attitude in school, for the most part. (some sports coaches often do a great job at this, but many people do not decide to apply these lessons to life after school)
Many parents do not know how to impart this winning attitude. (or know that it is a vital part of a child’s success habits that will benefit them later in life.
And colleges and universities do not really get into this topic, either!
So, how do you acquire this winning, indomitable spirit?
Here’s what I recommend – make this your goal:
I believe that acquiring a positive, winning attitude will result from constantly feeding your mind positive inputs.
Below is a list of positive inputs you can use to “pump up” your attitude over the long term:
- Positive CDs, Videos and audio books
- Positive, inspirational movies
- Positive peer groups and friends (don’t have any? Make some by attending seminars)
- Positive seminars, workshops and bootcamps
- Learning from successful people – reading their books gives you an insight into their mindset
- Careful control of other inputs – avoiding negative inputs like destructive or violent video games, movies, TV shows, broadcast news, newspapers and other media that tend to focus on the negative in the world
- Carefully limiting the amount of attention you give to the negative or smaller-thinking people in your life.
Here’s what I believe and what has worked for me:
If you do not have a local mentor who can help you be as big as you want to be; then do it yourself, by immersing yourself in positive inputs.
By doing this, you will begin to think bigger, you will expand your mind and you will also open up all kinds of channels of new thinking.
As you get further into this adventure, you will begin to meet people that are like-minded and that also want to win. Align yourself with good people and begin to build your own network of positive friends and your own mastermind group.
By doing this, you can definitely build your attitude and your mindset and, most importantly, you will become a winner in business and in life.
2. Activity And Actions
Right now, as you sit and read this article, your success (or lack of) is a direct result of the actions you’ve taken up to this point.
When you look back on this year, the success you experienced this year will be directly related to the actions you decided to take.
Did you take “success actions: or “failure actions”?
Another way to look at it is that you will be the sum total of the decisions you made and the habits you developed throughout the year.
These decisions or actions are what will determine your success this year.
So, if you can take some time to sit down – right now – and write down some goals and outcomes that you’d like to see, put some timeframes to them and lay out an action plan, you will be far ahead of the average person in terms of your chances for success in your business!
It’s all about taking action.
When I think about the success I’ve had, I realize that it is because I have a bias toward action that I’ve achieved anything in life.
Remember the old saying about there being three types of people in life:
1. Those who watch things happen
2. Those who make things happen and
3. Those who wonder: “What happened?”
Well, action alone is no good unless you have a clear direction and a vision for what you want to accomplish.
So, aligning your actions with a solid game plan and the proper attitude about your business, you will begin to see some incredible results!
Dave’s 10 Home Based Business Success Secrets
I want to give you ten success secrets that will help you build an awesome mindset, attitude and business this year and beyond.
These are secrets that I have gained through years of experience and years of studying success in business!
Let’s begin:
1. Create a healthy attitude toward wealth!
Successful people believe that wealth is not a limited resource.
They actually know that wealth is an unlimited resource and that there is all kinds of wealth to go around!
They have an abundance mentality that says, “Someone else does not have to lose in order for me to win”.
Unsuccessful people believe that wealth is a zero-sum game – they believe that if one person makes a lot of money, that person is automatically taking money away from the rest of us.
Obviously, nothing could be further from the truth, but you would be amazed how many people actually believe this!
2. Enjoy And Love The Fact That You Are An Entrepreneur
You know, it’s kind of sad that entrepreneurs and business people are often portrayed in the movies and on T.V. as the “greedy, crooked, bad guys” who will do anything for money.
The reality is that most entrepreneurs know that in order to succeed in business, they must serve people and do a great job at it or they will not stay in business very long!
The other interesting thing about being an entrepreneur is that it can be a very lonely life; very few people can relate to you because they live in a different world!
They live in the world of the 9 to 5er… They live in the “wage-slave” mentality and it is radically different from the entrepreneur mentality!
You need to be PROUD of being a business person and providing a value to society!
3. Build In Yourself Tremendous Courage Against The Odds
As an entrepreneur, you are by nature a courageous person!
You take calculated risks in order to succeed.
You fight the odds every day – and win.
You eat, live and breathe your business, because no one else will!
So, work daily to build your courage and to build the will to win… You do this by feeding your mind great, positive and encouraging stuff: positive CDs, positive books and positive information about other successful entrepreneurs!
4. Have A Vision For Your Near-Term And Long-Term Future
If there’s one thing entrepreneurs have, it is vision.
They have the ability to see the future before they manifest it.
They can see clearly their goals and the steps necessary to reach those goals.
Don’t ever lose your vision and your goal-setting processes; these are the keys to making you a success!
5. Be Action-Oriented
If there’s anything that I can credit some of my success to, it is that I am action-oriented. I’ve always had a bias toward taking action – even if it’s the wrong action – even wrong actions can get you closer to your goals than no action!
Do not be intimidated by large goals or by large dreams.
Know that you can do them, if you take them one step at a time!
Break down each goal into its smaller steps and you will begin to see yourself winning!
Jump on opportunities, if they feel right – take action, it is a great vaccine against the “paralysis of analysis”!
6. Successful Entrepreneurs Want To Be Somebody
You want to be somebody for what it turns you into, not necessarily for what it looks like to those around you.
You are a leader because you are internally driven and do not care what other people think about you – you are sure of your direction in life while most people are not.
You learn how to succeed in spite of your shortcomings – it’s what successful entrepreneurs do!
7. Be Certain About The Good You Are Doing For Society
Here’s a simple entrepreneurs formula: The more people you benefit, the more money you will make!
As a successful eBay seller, you are putting people in touch with products that they are searching for.
Your ability to do this in a smooth, safe and efficient manner will benefit that person.
The more people you benefit, the more money you will make!
This principle applies even more to other businesses you may undertake – no business lasts very long if they are not serving their customers!!
8. Finish What You Start!
If you’ve decided that you want to start a home based business, then I recommend that you finish what you started and become the successful home based entrepreneur you envisioned when you laid out that goal.
Successful entrepreneurs take action and they don’t stop there – they continue taking action!
They are not easily intimidated or discouraged; they keep going and going and going after their goals!!
9. Have Integrity And Do What’s Right – Because It’s Right!
Here’s another wealth principle: Long-term business success will only come to those who have high integrity and do not cheat people.
The history books are littered with people who cut corners and cheated people or bent the rules in their favor and crashed and burned as a result.
Even if you are not a religious person, it is important to understand that doing what’s right is the best thing to do in business simply because it is good business to do so.
Doing what’s right will keep you in business while others simply die on the vine.
10. Achievers Make NO EXCUSES!
An achiever knows it is going to take action – and lots of it – in order to make it in business.
They know, going in, that building a business may not be an easy walk in the park, but they dedicate themselves, plan their work and then work their plan.
Sometimes, the hardest thing to do in business is to stay disciplined and do what you know you need to do!
As an achiever, you will work when others quit, you will take action while others rest and you will never, ever quit!
Dave Espino’s Gameplan For Storage Auction Success
Storage auctions have been a huge hit on TV lately. (with the A&E show, Storage Wars racking up over 3.8 million viewers. And now there are two more TV shows about Storage Unit Auctions – Auction Hunters and Storage Hunters.)
But as much fun as it seems (and it is!) to bid on and buy a storage unit, you’ve got to understand that, in order to do it right, you have to be prepared to sell a mass amount of “stuff” – stuff of all kinds!
Now, in the old days, the storage auction buyer was limited because (unless they owned a store) they could only take the stuff to a swap meet or conduct a yard sale in their front yard.
But today, with eBay, Amazon and Craigslist, the opportunities to mass-sell items have never been better!
So, allow me to list some of the steps I would take if I wanted to really build this side of my eBay business to a high level.
(I believe you will find these steps to be instructive – whether you decide to follow them or not)
- I would post advertisements at local colleges for a part-time “eBay Apprentice”. I would interview and eventually hire two people for this job. Their job would be to photograph, list, ship and handle customer service for my Storage Unit resale business. In essence, I would train them to do everything I would normally do to sell a ton of these items on eBay / Craigslist and, in the meantime, they will be learning the business while acquiring an awesome new money-making skill!
- I would have cleared out my warehouse and gotten it ready for a maximum flow of items and merchandise that would be coming in and going out of this location.
- I would also invest in two new computers to be used by my new “eBay listers” to do their work.
You see, when the work of finding a never-ending supply of products to sell is not a challenge anymore, it is then very easy to duplicate yourself by training a college student to do the listing and shipping for you!
The idea here is that I will now be able to do the “easy” and “fun” part of the Storage Auction resale business and will have someone else do the listings and shipping!
If you have ever purchased a Storage Unit, then you know how much fun it can be.
First, you have the adrenaline rush of bidding on and winning the contents of the Storage Unit, usually in a live auction conducted by a licensed auctioneer.
Then, once you win the auction and the contents of the unit are all yours, you now have the incredible fun of searching the unit to see what types of goodies are in there!
You will find things that are obvious money-makers, right off the bat.
Then, you will also find things that appeal to you and items you want but have never purchased.
You will also find more common, household items that will still sell on eBay at decent amounts and then, of course, you may also find a percentage of the stuff that you will just have to donate to Goodwill or throw away.
(This is the fun part for me, searching through a roomful of goodies and sifting the money makers from the rest of the stuff.)
It is such an interesting and exciting part of the business – I hope you can get a taste of it for yourself!
Hold Everything!
In any case, here’s an important point I want to make…
I only give you my example of how I will tackle the storage auction business as a way to help you think about the potential of this business model!
It is important for you to see how YOU can implement this business model as a beginner and not get turned off by how a seasoned eBay seller is doing it.
The awesome thing about Storage Unit Auctions is that you can play the game at whatever level you wish!
You can buy smaller storage units for between $5 and $100 and turn that investment into more money, thus building your “investment kitty” up with consecutive purchases. (and growing your business little by little!)
For example, one of the storage units I bought was a small unit that I paid $125 for.
In that unit, I found vinyl records, (in that group there was one rare one which sold for $125) wheels for a BMW, vintage Credit Cards (also collectible) and more. I ended up selling the contents for $625. So, you really can start off with just a little over 100 bucks!
If you do not have a place to store the stuff that you buy, often you can just rent the same storage unit directly from the Storage company, right on the spot and this way you do not have to move any of the items – in many cases, you could literally sell some of the larger items directly from the Storage Unit! (check with your storage facility to see if they allow this – not all do)
Don’t have the resources to hire someone? How about hiring an intern?
Many young people will work for the experience and the ability to put that work experience on a resume. It’s a great way for them to get started in life and to build up their resume!
You could also hire a high school or college student on a commission basis – in this case, they would get a percentage of everything they sell on eBay for you!
You can try a 20%, 30% or even 40% commission, depending on how generous you feel.
In this way, you only pay that person when an item actually sells and when you actually receive the money, so the money you pay comes straight out of the profits you make!
There are a lot of ways to approach this business and most of them do not cost money to do so.
I just want to encourage you to try this approach.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, (I know, I know, I’m always talking about Storage Auctions) I only recommend this source as my favorite source because I know it has the greatest potential of all the approaches that I’ve personally tried.

5 Powerful “Revolutions” That Can Explode Your Home Based Internet Business
Throughout my home based business career, I have developed certain habits and disciplines which have helped me succeed.
While the thought of being able to work from home and have freedom to be your own boss sounds exciting to most, being a home based entrepreneur can be a big challenge if you are not prepared.
It’s not as easy as it sounds, at first.
But if you follow and adhere to the “Revolutions” in this article, I think you will go a long way towards Home Based business success!
Revolution #1
“I will do the most productive thing possible at every given moment.”
This is the successful entrepreneur’s creed.
This is how people make large amounts of money in their internet business. They simply do the most productive thing possible in their business at all times. By prioritizing their time in this way, they do the money-maximizing things (the things that make them money) while leaving the many tasks that do not make them money.
For example, in your eBay business, a list of the most productive things possible is populated by really only a few things:
- Finding great deals on merchandise and negotiating even better deals by buying in bulk
- Listing items for sale on a continuous basis so as to keep the cash flowing in
- Providing excellent customer service so as to keep our customers happy and coming back to us for more business
If you focus your energies on Revolution #1, you will undoubtedly make more money!
Revolution #2
“I will use lists to make sure that the right things get done every day, every week, every month, and all year!”
The importance of lists is often downplayed and people lose out as a result of this.
Andrew Carnegie, one of the richest men of the 19th century paid someone thousands of dollars for a simple idea, the idea of creating a list every night of the things that had to be done the next day and then prioritizing the list.
The reason he paid so much money for this idea is that it actually proved to increase productivity in his factories by a huge percentage and the fee that he paid for the idea was actually a tiny fraction of the increased revenue and results achieved by using this idea!
Lists are valuable in your eBay business but even more valuable in your daily life, as a way of balancing your work life with your personal or family life.
For example, I use a smartphone that keeps me organized.
It allows me to input events, dates and appointments into my calendar and set an alarm for these things. (It also syncs with my Google calendar, which is very helpful when I’m on the computer!)
It keeps me focused on the things I need to do on any given day and alerts me to the coming events that I will be working on.
I would highly recommend that you use a smartphone or an organizer to create your daily lists on and then follow them!
You will be amazed at your productivity – especially if you end up developing a variety of businesses or interests, like I have!
Revolution #3
“I will spend more quality time with my family and friends.”
In the end, the reason we want to make more money or succeed in our eBay business is often tied to family and friends.
This is where the real “juice” of life is, not necessarily in making money.
However, we often miss this fact in our quest to generate large sums of money and the “means to the end” (money) ends up becoming the end goal.
This is unfortunate, but often we get so wrapped up in making money that we lose the reason we are trying to make all this money!
The Cat Stevens song “Cats In The Cradle” comes to mind.
In this classic ‘70s song, a son sees his father as someone who is somewhat distant because (it is implied) he is always focused on working and bringing home the money.
In the end, when the son is grown up and the father is retired and now wants to spend time with him, the son has turned out just like his father and now has no time for his dad.
It is a sad but illustrative view of the concept we are talking about here, where making the money becomes the goal rather than using the money to be closer to our loved ones, which should be the true goal.
Taking this Revolution in its rightful light, I often plan events and trips with my family – as a group, as well as with each individual child – that serve each of my kids in a way that they feel special.
I have three kids and I am beginning to realize the temporary nature of their time at home with my wife and I and how, in a few short years, they will be on their way to college and living on their own.
Whenever I think of this, I realize that I need to make every moment count and I cannot hold back on showing my love for them as well as giving them the time that they so richly deserve.
This serves many purposes, not the least of which is that it develops in them a healthy self-concept (knowing that their Dad loves them) as well as giving them a good dose of Dad’s philosophy of life so that they end up successful in whatever career or business they end up choosing in life!
It’s not the easiest thing to get up and play with your kids when you are tired from a day at work and juggling all the other responsibilities of life, but let me tell you, it can be the most rewarding thing in the world – and, you often get some amazing insights into your kids that you wouldn’t have gotten otherwise!
Also, it is easy (especially for men) to pay more attention to the kids than we do to our spouse, but nurturing your relationship with your spouse is key to maintaining a healthy marriage as well as maintaining happiness in its own right!
I’ve been fortunate to be married for 23 years and my wife and I maintain a pretty consistent schedule of “date nights” or just time alone where we get a sitter and go out to dinner or a movie and just spend time together in a situation where it’s just “us”.
It is amazing how easily you can forget what brought you together in the beginning unless you proactively work on making these date nights happen and purposely set time aside for just the two of you. This will make a difference, believe me!
“Revolution #4”
“I will continue to expand my mind and develop my business skills through self-education.”
I believe in the power of self-education and self-development because I am a product of it and have seen the results in my own life.
I started out as a very shy and introverted kid. I was quiet and reserved and did not want to talk to anyone!
Through working on myself and working on myself some more, I developed into a person I am proud of.
I can now speak to a group of people (of any size) without the slightest bit of fear or nervousness.
I speak to strangers with no hesitancy.
I can deal with Presidents of companies and top business leaders on an eye-to-eye level.
I credit these abilities to a constant and rigorous regimen of personal development through CDs, books, videos and seminars and the application of these things I learned!
One of the more important things that this personal development has accomplished is that it has allowed me to expand my thinking.
I believe that, if you want to achieve success, you’ve got to work on expanding your thinking and your vision for your life.
“Small thinking leads to small success, but big thinking leads to big success.”
By expanding your thinking, you will be able to see bigger things in store for you than you did before.
You will be able to believe bigger things are possible for you than you currently believe.
You will then be able to take bigger actions than you have ever taken before because you usually do not take bigger actions until you believe in those actions and believe that those actions will lead to success!
Think about it. If you want to do something really big in your life, but you don’t really believe that you can – are you going to even try? Probably not!
So, one of your big goals this year is to expand your thinking.
You do this by exposing yourself to people who already think big – the leaders, entrepreneurs, achievers who are already successful. Today, just about every thought leader is on Facebook and you can “friend them”! So make it a point to do just that. You will be exposed to their “thinking” and their philosophy of life and this will help you connect to bigger and better things.
If you cannot meet these people in person, then the next best thing is to get their books, biographies, tapes, CDs and videos and learn from them!
Learn by their example – learn how to harness the power of thinking big.
You will be so glad you did!
Revolution #5
“I will give of my time, money and talents to people less fortunate than me.”
This one may sound a little odd at first, but if you read “The Richest Man In Babylon”, you will see how it makes complete sense.
In order to give, you must first step outside of yourself and see needs from someone else’s point of view.
I believe that this “stepping outside of yourself” is a powerful exercise that will actually help you in business.
Too often, as entrepreneurs we are focused on “me, my success, my progress”.
The simple act of giving allows you to add dimension to your money-making activities and gives you an even deeper reason for what you do.
It adds depth to your character and a sense of purpose and pride when you can say (to yourself) that you contributed to making the world a better place as a direct result of your business efforts.
There is a certain powerful feeling in knowing that your day to day efforts are going to yield results far beyond the number of years that you have on this Earth.
Giving does that for you.
It gives you a sense of immortality with regard to your actions and your contributions on this planet and it gives you a sense of peace that you have helped people who could not help themselves.
I believe that, as an entrepreneur, our duty is to give to those less fortunate, through charities, church, direct gifts and through giving of our time.
Here’s the bottom line: If you have been blessed with the ability to make money, then I believe that you have a responsibility to help those who aren’t able to be so blessed.
Take Bill Gates as an example…
The richest man in the world has given a $29 Billion endowment through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – an awesome gift that is being used to benefit world health and to find cures for some of the Earth’s biggest diseases.
This is actually a larger amount than the World Health Organization has available!
Andrew Carnegie, the richest man of the past millennium said: “The man who dies rich, dies disgraced” as a way of explaining his actions of switching from accumulating wealth to distributing his wealth.
Let me tell you – if the principle is good enough for two of the richest men in the world, then it’s good enough for me!
While you might be tempted to think, “Well of course they give a lot of money away, they can afford to!”
I would have to call you on that and say, “WRONG”
In my studies of successful people I can point to hundreds of examples of people who gave even when they “couldn’t afford to” and as they grew in wealth and stature, this developed habit of giving simply grew along with their wealth.
It is a success law that does not fail.
My hope for you in the coming years is that you will take these success principles to heart and put them where you will see them.
By doing so, and actively reading them as well as acting on them, you will be doing your part in making these Revolutions come true!
3 Powerful Tips For Home Based Business Success
When running a home based business, there are key principles we need to keep in mind.
Running a home based business is a challenge in itself in that it takes a special sort of self-discipline to stay engaged and focused on your business goals.
There are distractions everywhere when you work from home and staying free of these can make all the difference in the world.
Here are some Home Based Business tips that have worked wonders for me:
Begin With The End In Mind
All successful people do this – they begin with the end in mind. They see success and their desired end result before they ever begin their project.
In fact, you could almost draw a parallel with how much this skill relates to personal success.
Those who have the ability to begin with the end in mind can “see” their success ahead of time and can continue to strive toward that “picture”; the end result that they see so clearly.
Of course, it is entirely possible that you could lose that picture through lack of focus or lack of desire for that outcome but that is entirely up to you and your own ability to hold on to that vision of success.
Think about it, in your job, who are the highest paid people at the top of the corporate ladder?
I would suggest that many of them are not necessarily the most talented when it comes to the nuts and bolts of manufacturing, computer systems or the day to day operations of the company, but many of the top corporate executives and entrepreneurs ARE able to think and plan and visualize the successful execution of a larger goal. In fact, some of the best corporate leaders could definitely be called “visionaries”.
A great example of a visionary is Walt Disney. I remember reading a great story about Mr. Disney… (paraphrased)
Mr. Disney passed away during the construction of Tomorrowland.
The story goes that at the Grand Opening of Tomorrowland, Mrs. Disney was asked, “Isn’t it too bad that Walt can’t be here to see this?”
To which Mrs. Disney assured, “He has seen it.”
See, Walt Disney had seen it – way before construction even began on that project. He had a clear, concise picture in his mind of what he wanted to accomplish and then set the wheels in motion to create his vision.
What do you want to accomplish this year?
Do you have a clear, concise mental picture of what you want?
Is it laser-tuned specific or is it vague and general?
Have you taken time to write out all of your game plan for this year and the years to come?

Game Planning For Success
The word “Goals” and the practice of writing goals down is almost a cliché nowadays.
As you know, I am a student of success in business and have attended hundreds of seminars, read thousands of books and listened to days of tapes on success. I know the power of goal setting and the effect that it has had on my success.
However, I believe there is something even more powerful than goal setting and I call it “Game planning”.
If you have any experience in sports, then you have a clear idea of what I’m talking about.
It has more to do with the actual strategy and logistics of what you want to accomplish than the actual end result itself.
In sports we call these “plays” or, put more simply, the steps you must execute in order to reach the goal line or to win the game.
Game planning involves goal setting but takes it to the next level. This next level is one of actually creating a plan to accomplish the end result (goal) and a timeline in which to accomplish each step. It is literally a step-by-step plan of accomplishment!
This is the way the mind responds best to a goal – it must have a plan to get to its goal and then – everything moves a LOT more smoothly!
Take some time TODAY. (no procrastinating – Just do it!)
Set your eBay business game plan and develop strategies to accomplish your end result.
By having A PLAN in place, (notice I didn’t say a “PERFECT PLAN” – it doesn’t have to be perfect) you will more easily move forward and you know what? Moving forward is the very first step to success. It is the ability to get yourself off of square one that is probably the most important step – once you do that, you have forward momentum and it is much easier to keep that momentum going than it is to stop! – So go ahead – get on it!
Include Your Family And Friends In Your Game Plans For This Year
You need to know something.
All your efforts at building a success in business will be utterly worthless if you don’t have family and friends to share it with.
I believe that, if you spend all of your time building success, at the end of the day, you won’t have loved ones to share your excitement and wealth with. It will be a hollow victory.
The real joy in life is in healthy, fulfilling, well-balanced relationships – relationships with God, Family, Friends and Business Associates.
My last (but certainly not least) recommendation for success this year is that you work hard to build or enrich these important relationships in your life.
I realize that some of your friends or family may not understand or even support your business goals – and that’s o.k..
You still need to be able to Game Plan time with God, time with your family, time with your friends and yes, even time with your employees or people you work with! By doing this, you will be extracting the “juice” out of life.
You will enjoy your life a lot more and you will have richness to your life that few other people do. It will add dimension to your monetary success and will make your life much fuller.
Just stop and think about financially successful people who isolated themselves: Elvis Presley, Howard Hughes, Marylyn Monroe, etc. These people were rich and famous but, because they isolated themselves from other people, (or their friends and family) they ended up becoming some of the saddest tragedies of history.
Be sure you make time this year to be with friends and family – at the end of the line, our relationships will far out value our business net worth.
How To Make Money Buying Wholesale Lots On eBay
There is a whole world of wholesale lots being sold on eBay right now.
Here is a link to all the main categories on eBay.

You’ll notice that at the end of each list of categories, there is usually a “Wholesale Lots” category.
This is where you can begin your research into profitable lots on eBay.
But before you buy, make sure you do your pre-sale pricing research.
You’ll want to check “Completed Listings” to find out what these items have actually sold for in recent weeks on eBay.
By doing this pre-sale research, you will be able to make a sound buying decision and protect yourself from doing a bad or unprofitable deal.
Take your time, do some calculating, and be sure you can make money on the wholesale lot before you buy the lot!
I’m not ashamed to admit that, in my early days, I got stuck with my share of “duds” – buying small lots of collectibles at a swap meet or yard sale, only to find out later that the items wouldn’t sell for very much on eBay.
Don’t let this happen to you – when you are buying wholesale lots on eBay, you have the benefit of being able to research the items being sold AHEAD OF TIME and really KNOW that you will be making money before you buy.
Remember, you make your money when you buy – so buy right in order to sell right! It’s great, buying when you know that you will make money!

Dave Espino’s Personal Development Tip – Stay In Business Long Enough To Build A Business
This is a lesson that most entrepreneurs need to learn early on.
The first rule of business is to stay in business long enough to build a business.
What this means is that, if you’re going to be in business, you need to develop persistence and tenacity – the ability to keep on going through any difficult times that may arise.
You see, starting a business is no different than other long-term commitments you might make – in terms of the commitment involved.
For example, many people give up on a weight loss program way before they start to see its benefits.
Your ability to stay engaged and committed in your internet business is one of the biggest keys to making it.
Too many people give up too soon and fail to see the rewards that were waiting for them on the other side!
I believe there are several reasons for this:
Lack of a clear, bold vision
It’s clear to me that winners have a big, bold vision for where they want to go with their eBay business.
If you don’t have a big enough or clear enough vision for what you’re trying to accomplish, it will be difficult to work your way through the tough times.
I’ve been involved in many businesses, and when I’ve seen people quit, it’s usually because their current “reality” is bigger (to them) than their vision for their business. It’s too bad when this happens, because most of this “reality” is in their mind, not in their reality!
They simply weren’t able to get their mind to see the big vision they needed in order to be successful.
So by having a clear bold vision, and keeping that vision firmly in your mind, you’ll have enough strength to get through the difficult times.
Not understanding the “how to”
Winners understand the how-to, or at least they make sure to learn the fundamentals of the business they’re getting involved in.
Sometimes people give up and fail because they don’t understand the “how-to’s”, or the basics of how to build their business. This causes discouragement and discouragement leads to quitting.

Not having a solid support network
Many successful people have had mentors in their lives. This is another key to success! And while it’s not always possible to have a mentor, you can “self-mentor” by listening to positive audios and watching positive videos of successful people who’ve already made it to where YOU want to be in business and in life.
I cannot emphasize this enough. The truth is; you are who you hang out with, so make it a point to hang out with successful people, with leaders, with winners and very soon you, too, will be one of these successful people.
I didn’t have a personal mentor on my way up, so I had to learn the hard way. But ever since I was 19, I’ve read about, studied from and listened to successful people on CD and on video. And this has helped me to build a clear context and philosophy for success and to develop a true understanding of what it takes to be successful in business, by learning from others who have succeeded.
By using these success tips and not forgetting to put in some hard work at both your attitude and your actions, you too, will be successful!
Dave Espino’s Craigslist Tip – Being A Craigslist Broker
A creative way to use Craigslist to make money is to simply act as a broker, or a middleman in a transaction.
Every day there are people looking for particular products on Craigslist.
In fact, these people are often advertising under the “for sale / wanted” category of Craigslist.
Now, this might sound really strange, but did you know that, every day there are people selling that exact same product on Craigslist?
(Sometimes they’re actually giving away that product on craigslist in the “free” category)
By acting as a broker or a middleman, you can earn finders fees, commissions, or participate in the deal in some other way. This is really only limited by your imagination.
A great way to find those products is to use the ad notification system that I teach you about in my new video training: “How To eBay Your Way To Fast Cash”.
By simply setting up your system to notify you of these products that people are searching for in the “wanted” section of craigslist, you can very easily build an automatic income stream.
As soon as that item pops up on Craigslist, you will be there first, and you can contact the person who is looking for it (in the wanted section) and let them know about it in exchange for a commission.
The other way to do it, is to actually go buy that product, and then resell it to the person as well.
Recently, I have been using Escrow.com to buy collections of vintage Hot Wheels. You can also use Escrow.com to “tie up” that item and that way the seller is committed to selling it to you BEFORE you go ahead and contact the eventual buyer for this item.
Taking this to a bigger level, you can use this in real estate to help agents find “for sale by owner” properties.
Or you can help a boat dealer acquire a customer who’s trying to sell his or her boat.
The number of ways to make money with craigslist is almost limitless because of the sheer number of categories that exist on craigslist.

One of my product sources / suppliers sells “As Seen On TV” products.
This is a great product to sell on craigslist, because of the huge TV exposure that these products get. Recently, I’ve been selling fitness and weight loss products on craigslist.
Because of the huge amount of TV exposure these products get, I’ve been doing great with these types of products.
Many people see a product on TV, and then go straight to craigslist or eBay to try and find that product at a cheaper price
If you’re able to find a source of products that are sold via TV commercials or even infomercials, you may have a little gold mine on your hands.
That’s because these are the types of products that craigslist buyers are looking for on a daily basis, and if you run a listing for that type of product – a good professional-looking listing – you’re bound to make a large number of sales.
And, as you know, craigslist sales are great because people come to you and they pay you in cash – so there’s no shipping involved!
So here’s today’s Craigslist Tip:
“Finding suppliers of TV-promoted products (or other extremely popular products) is a great way to sell items on craigslist because these are exactly the type of products people are looking for on craigslist”
So do some research on products that would sell well in your local area craigslist.
You may even find that you can buy wholesale lots on eBay and sell them on craigslist for more money!

Dave Espino’s eBay Tip – Develop Multiple Streams Of Income
This month’s eBay tip comes from my experience as an eBay seller for over 12 years.
Here’s the tip:
“Be sure to develop multiple product sources, and therefore multiple streams of income on eBay. You never know when one supplier will run out of merchandise and it’s always best to have several options that you can tap into in your eBay business”
I remember once (early in my eBay business) when I was relying on one supplier for all of my products.
I was doing great and selling about $8,000 a month of this one product, when all of a sudden my supplier told me they had run out of inventory and they wouldn’t have new inventory until three weeks later.
Well, this affected my eBay business pretty dramatically back then because my cash flow suddenly stopped, and I couldn’t replenish or continue to ramp up my eBay sales.
It was then that I learned (the hard way) that I should maintain multiple product suppliers, and therefore multiple streams of income on eBay.
It’s what I recommend you do, by digging into my new video training (“How To eBay Your Way To Fast Cash”) and finding multiple product sources that excite you and that you can make money with.
Not only will you not have any unexpected surprises, but you will build a more solid and stable eBay business as a result!
